CLP Fields 6 New Candidates

Terry Mills, Leader of the Opposition, today introduced 6 CLP candidates to run in Top End electorates at the next Territory election.

“I’m delighted by the quality of people who have put their hands up to run for the CLP,” says Terry Mills, Leader of the Opposition.

“We are putting in place a team to deal with the real issues confronting Territorians – the breakdown in law and order, poor standards in education and the chronic health problems plaguing our hospitals.

“These candidates bring an excellent range of experience and understanding of the needs of ordinary Territorians.

“They measure up very well against many of the sitting members on the Government side.

“The fact is there are a lot of duds in the Labor Government, people who lack either the capacity or commitment necessary to improve the Territory.

“The lack of real substance on the Government benches partly explains why Labor is all talk and no action.

“I’ve never seen a Government less able to deliver its promises – in particular promises to make our streets safe, break up gangs and get drunken itinerants off our streets.

“The fact that people of such substance and commitment are willing to represent the CLP augurs very well for future of the party.”
